473沃尔沃建筑设备部门,沃尔沃集团UK has opened its brand new and purpose-designed customer support centre in Horsham, West Sussex, southern England.

The company says that it has demonstrated its long term commitment to its customers by building the new flagship facility. As part of its strategy for preparing for the future market upturn Volvo CE has continued to invest in facilities to build workshop and service capability.

The opening of the Horsham customer support centre follows hot on the heels of an expanded support and machinery preparation centre at Immingham (County Lincolnshire, eastern England) and an on-going programme of upgrading its other facilities nationwide.

The new facility at Horsham replaces the company’s previous centre located at Woking, County Surrey which had outgrown its capacity due to a growing machine population. The new facility is located on a modern business park with excellent road links to the M23 and M25. It boasts ample yard space, bespoke machine washing facilities; a workshop comprising of three generously sized bays and a comprehensive parts store.

The opening ceremony was presided over by the retired depot manager Des Perry who managed the Woking depot since 1987 before handing over to the current manager Dave Teague in 2005.

Des was happy to see that nearly all the personnel from the Woking facility have made the move to the new site and to meet the five additional heads needed to meet the expanding demand for the company’s services. All the new team members were recruited from the Horsham vicinity. The majority of Horsham’s team including home based mobile engineers, administration staff and the local sales team were present together with others from within the company that contributed to setting up this new facility.

Members of Volvo CE’s executive management team were also present including managing director Val Ledden who thanked Dave Teague, and his team for their support and positive determination to see through a smooth transition from the old to the new facility.

“Opening a brand new facility in these challenging times clearly sends out a strong message affirming that we are here to stay and that we will continue to provide full support to our customers.”
